Fujiwara no Masatada (藤原雅正)
In 1019, immediately after he heard that unidentified robbers attacked people of the island and violated livestock, he went there to subdue the robbers by leading soldiers from the Fushiro-jo Castle. However, they were far inferior to about the 3000 robbers and he died on the battlefield with 147 soldiers on his side although they fought hard (Toi invasion). His grave is in Tateishiminamifure, Katsumoto-cho, Iki City.
FUJIWARA no Masatada was a busho (Japanese military commander) in the Heian period. He was the Iki no kuni kokushi (the provincial governor of Iki Province).
